Dr. Akeem Disu, the centre director, explained that the essence of procuring an additional power generator was to ameliorate the effect of the hike in petrol and diesel prices.
He said the new power generator would provide a backup to the 110 kVA Cummins diesel generator provided by the university.
Disu emphasised that the centre was committed to ensuring timely delivery of services and maintaining a steady flow of activities.
The visibly elated staff of the centre were joyous; as they commended the centre director for the initiative.
They said that the acquisition of the generating plant would help to ensure there is a constant power supply for staff to attend to the needs of students.
